About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven EMS Supervisor to lead our workshop operations in Elandsfontein. Reporting to the EMS Service Centre Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of employees and contractors while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality repair, refurbishment, assembly, and testing of mechanical equipment, particularly gearboxes.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage workshop activities to ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
- Supervise gearbox overhaul, refurbishment, repair, assembly, and testing activities in accordance with OEM specifications and engineering standards.
- Attend to breakdowns and repair requests.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives and toolbox talks.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, repair procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Manage inventory of critical components, consumables, bearings, seals, and lubricants.
- Oversee maintenance, calibration, and certification of workshop equipment and measuring instruments.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders on technical matters and project execution.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Qualified Millwright or Fitter & Turner.
- National Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
- Valid driver's licence.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years' progressive supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop or engineering environment.
- Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and SAP.
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
