Engine Technician

D2B Groups is partnering with an established dealer to build out its engine service team. They support customers running gas and diesel engines and generator packages, and they are hiring technicians at mid and senior levels.

This is not a one-size-fits-all role. You pick the setup that fits your life: work in the shop or in the field, and live local, work a rotational schedule, or relocate. If you know engines and want a dealer that invests in its people, we want to talk to you.

Choose Your Path:

• Shop Technician
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair engines and gen-set packages in a fully equipped dealer shop. Predictable environment, heavy component and overhaul work.
• Field Technician
• Take a company service truck to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair equipment where it runs. Independent work, direct customer contact, never the same day twice.

• Local
• Live within commuting distance of [Location] and work a standard schedule with overtime available.
• Rotational
• Work a set rotation, typically 14 days on and 7 days off. Travel to the assigned location and lodge there for the duration of each hitch, then go home for your days off. [Travel/lodging/per diem details]
• Relocation
• Ready to make a move for the right career? Relocate to work shop or field on a local schedule. Relocation assistance is offered.

What You'll Do

•       Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel engines, generator sets, and related systems (electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic).

•       Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, oil sampling, component replacement, and in-frame and out-of-frame overhauls and rebuilds

•       Use diagnostic software and service tools (SIS, ET, and related systems) to pinpoint issues and verify repairs.

•       Complete jobs within standardtimes while keeping comebacks to a minimum.

•       Document work accurately: work orders, parts orders, job safety analyses, and service reports.

•       Communicate clearly with customers, service coordinators, and parts staff; provide accurate repair quotes when needed.

•       Follow all safety, contamination control, and HAZMAT procedures on every job.

Requirements

•       Hands-on experience as a diesel, gas engine, or heavy equipment technician. Levels I through III are open, so we will match you to the right level based on your background (typically 0–2, 3–5, and 5+ years).

•       Working knowledge of gas and/or diesel engines and their supporting systems. Cat product experience is a strong plus.

•       Comfort with hand, air, and precision measuring tools, laptops and diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging.

•       Your own tools appropriate to your level.

•       A valid driver's license and the ability to qualify to drive a company vehicle.

•       Willingness to work overtime as needed and, for rotational roles, to travel and stay on site for the full hitch.
