The Engineering Manager is responsible for the delivery of a cross functional engineering team. Together with our Product Management you and your team decisively influence the value for our customers and the quality of our products. You will also be the peer of our machine learning team leadership and closely collaborate with this area.

Your responsibilities include team leadership, finding innovative and efficient technical solutions, and influencing the technical strategy. You create the environment for the engineering teams, so that they can perform at their highest level and contribute to the ever-increasing customer value of our products efficiently and effectively.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team with a strong focus on enablement, feedback culture, and continuous growth
  • Drive delivery across the full product lifecycle, ensuring timely releases of high-quality, customer-facing applications
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Machine Learning, and Infrastructure teams to deliver real value to users and customers
  • Manage team performance through regular 1:1s, structured performance reviews, and clear goal setting
  • Foster agile ways of working (e.g., Scrum) and continuously improve delivery processes and efficiency
  • Contribute to technical direction, including architecture improvements, scalability, and managing technical debt
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders, ensuring transparency on progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Support hiring and team growth, identifying and nurturing talent within the organization
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, with a strong focus on empowering and enabling teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to give constructive feedback and build trust through empathy
  • Strong people management experience, including 1:1s and performance management; budget responsibility is a plus
  • Solid technical background (hands-on experience) in at least one of the following: Java, Go, JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, or Python
  • Proven experience in agile development environments and delivery management of digital products 
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to balance speed and technical quality
  • Strong customer-centric thinking and understanding of how to deliver user value through engineering teams
  • Fluent in English (must-have); German is a plus
