What you'll do

  • Assist in the creation of prototype and/or new parts for existing machines.
  • Perform tests on various machines.
  • Assist machines through production implementation in the following departments: Machine Shop, Welding, Paint and Assembly.
  • Assist Marketing, Service, and Sales as required.
  • Organize, inspect, and check in parts for Engineering.
  • Document and record test reports, project challenges and all changes to the machines.
  • Communicate new and unique ideas to improve Vermeer products.

  • Understanding of design guidelines and electrical and hydraulic standards.
  • Demonstrate broad fundamental knowledge operating company products.
  • Demonstrate broad fundamental knowledge to safely operate tools and complete assigned processes.
  • Understanding of equipment operation: AG tractor, loader, CDL, etc.
  • Experience with computer equipment including report writing, data gathering, testing and diagnostics.
  • Demonstrate broad fundamental knowledge in the areas of diagnostics and trouble shooting.
  • Demonstrate broad fundamental knowledge testing products for functions and operation level limits.
  • Build positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and co-workers.
  • Develop a network of engineering relationships and relevant metrics to improve Vermeer customer solutions and driving critical success metrics.
  • Communicate input in a constructive way to improve output of other areas.

Job Summary

Are you the type of person who is a life-long learner and has a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision? In this role you will troubleshoot and assist in the implementation of innovative solutions to current production models as well as new prototypes. We’re looking for an individual with hands-on experience that can assist engineering teams with designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions for various engineering projects.

What You’ll Do

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
