What you'll do

  • Lead implementing EllisDon’s environmental policies, practices, and procedures on Heavy Civil construction projects.
  • Coordinate within multi-disciplinary environmental teams, including internal project resources and external consultants, in managing impacts of the works and meeting project deliverables.
  • Perform site environmental inspections to verify and report on conformance with Environmental Management Plans.
  • Exercise authority to stop work on any activities that may result in non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations or project-specific environmental commitments.
  • Work cooperatively with project personnel to correct and prevent environmental issues that jeopardize the project’s conformance with the environmental program requirements as outlined in contracts, internal project-specific documents or corporate commitments.
  • Work within a formal Environmental Management System framework and support its maintenance and improvements.
  • Identify issues and concerns for corrective and preventative actions and record details in corrective and preventative action reports.
  • Guide project teams through environmental permitting, development of and administration of the Environmental Management System and Environmental Management Plans.
  • Develop excel tracking sheets for environmental requirements within pursuits or project contracts as well as applicable jurisdictional environmental laws.

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction environment, considered an asset

You as an Environmental Coordinator will:

Is this the right role for you?

  • The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000.
