What you'll do
- Providing Environmental Services support to the South Coastal Emergency Department.
- Assist in the transportation of patients and materials to and from the patient care units and other hospital departments utilizing pre-defined response criteria.
- Assist with light maintenance to include unclogging of toilets, investigating/identifying and reporting leaks and generating maintenance work orders of other building related concerns.
- Performing cleaning functions in assigned areas while following assigned schedules and specific methods to provide patients, visitors, and staff with a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment.
- Aid in prevention of cross contamination, controlling bacteria, odor, and sustaining acceptable aseptic conditions.
- Assist with furniture moves, recycling, curtain replacement, delivery of supplies, and the removal of trash and biohazard waste.
- Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas as required.
- Report any floor issues that need more than routine cleaning, such as worn areas, for scheduling of deeper maintenance.
- Complete floor care tasks/projects with walk-behind machines, side-by-side scrubbers, carpet extractors etc..
- Managing, sorting, cleaning, and distributing clean linens throughout the hospital and collecting solid linens.
- Inventory management by keeping records of linen levels.

Overview
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Lead, Manager, and/or Director, EVS Tech I- South Coastal is responsible for providing Environmental Services support to the South Coastal Emergency Department. In addition, this position assist in the transportation of patients and materials to and from the patient care units and other hospital departments utilizing pre-defined response criteria. This position will assist with light maintenance to include unclogging of toilets, investigating/identifying and reporting leaks and generating maintenance work orders of other building related concernsResponsibilities
The Environmental Services (EVS) Associate aids in maintaining a high-quality standard of housekeeping. This includes performing cleaning functions in assigned areas while following assigned schedules and specific methods to provide patients, visitors, and staff with a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment. EVS Associates aid in prevention of cross contamination, controlling bacteria, odor, and sustaining acceptable aseptic conditions. They may assist with furniture moves, recycling, curtain replacement, delivery of supplies, and the removal of trash and biohazard waste.
Within Environmental Services are other areas of specialties such as:
Floor Care:
- Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas as required.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience in healthcare, school, or hospitality setting.

- On-the-job training will be provided.
