Pay Details

The compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The salary range is $70,000 to $85,000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate's relevant skills and experience.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Equipment Advisor is responsible for the lifecycle management of fleet assets, ensuring equipment is delivered, deployed, maintained, relocated, and disposed of in a manner that supports operational requirements. The role works closely with Operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maximize equipment availability, utilization, and customer service.

 

The Equipment Advisor coordinates equipment leasing, relocations, asset onboarding, and fleet projects while maintaining accurate asset records and regulatory compliance. This position requires strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of the tractor and trailer industry. The successful candidate will leverage Power BI, Excel, and operational data to support business decisions, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Please note this position can be located in either Edmonton, AB or Mississauga, ON.

Who You Are

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, including report analysis, insight generation, and export management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Operations, vendors, and internal business partners.
• Experience in fleet, transportation, asset management, procurement, or equipment leasing environments is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for:

 

• Delivering new and used fleet assets accurately and on schedule to meet operational requirements.
• Manage asset onboarding, tracking, lifecycle records, transfers, and disposal.
• Maximize equipment availability through effective fleet planning, utilization management, and operational support.
• Manage and oversee fleet projects from planning through execution, coordinating resources, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
• Coordinate equipment purchases, leases, relocations, and deployments.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and leasing partners while managing equipment and service costs.
• Coordinate the installation, availability, and tracking of onboard equipment and technology.
• Ensure asset transactions and records comply with accounting, operational, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Analyze operational, financial, and technical data to identify trends, solve problems, and support decision-making.
• Utilize Power BI, Excel, and Word to develop reports, generate insights, and communicate business results.
• Work with Operations and cross-functional teams to improve fleet performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; post-secondary degree is an asset;
• Industry experience of a minimum of one (1) year in a maintenance service environment.
