  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic problems and identify root causes.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to improve safety, reliability, and equipment uptime.
  • Work with motors, controls, contactors, sensors, power distribution, belts, bearings, gearboxes, shafts, drive systems, heating elements, and temperature controls.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Install, modify, and improve equipment as operating needs change.
  • Maintain compressors and other facility support systems.
  • Coordinate with production personnel to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Recommend practical equipment and process improvements.
  • Help strengthen maintenance documentation, spare-parts practices, and preventive maintenance routines.
  • Provide occasional off-hours or weekend support for urgent equipment issues when needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around manufacturing equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay-Ametherm is currently seeking applicants for an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor. As an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in helping maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the equipment at our Carson City manufacturing operation. We are seeking a hands-on problem solver who can work independently, communicate clearly with production employees, and take real ownership of equipment reliability.

Job Location:

The ideal candidate will be working on-site in the state of Nevada, USA in Carson City. Carson City is the state capital and is just a quick 30 minutes from the beautiful Lake Tahoe and 30 minutes away from The Biggest Little City, Reno.

What You Will Be Doing

Troubleshoot and repair industrial manufacturing equipment.

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic problems and identify root causes.

Required Qualifications

Associates ’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar engineering field. Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and hands-on experience.Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.Solid mechanical repair experience with bearings, belts, gearboxes, shafts, motors, and drive systems.Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.Ability to diagnose problems systematically and work independently with limited supervision.Good judgment, reliable attendance, and professional communication.Commitment to safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout and required PPE. 

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a thermistor manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment, manufacturing processes, engineering laboratories, and production personnel.

The role requires a hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor and may involve standing, walking, bending, and working around production equipment and materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Occasional travel, extended hours, or schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs, production requirements, equipment installations, or project timelines.
