Expert Virtualization Engineer

The Expert Virtualization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise virtualization and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions. This role leads complex datacenter migration, modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives while serving as a technical subject matter expert for VMware, Nutanix, storage, networking, and compute technologies.

Key responsibilities include architecting scalable virtualization platforms, performing capacity planning, leading infrastructure deployments and upgrades, executing large-scale datacenter migrations, and driving operational excellence through automation and best practices. The role is accountable for infrastructure performance, availability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across virtualized environments.

The Expert Virtualization Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule, manage technical risks, and ensure successful operational handover. Additionally, the role provides technical leadership, mentors engineering teams, develops infrastructure standards, and supports strategic initiatives involving cloud adoption, platform modernization, and infrastructure optimization.

Required Expertise

• VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, DRS, HA, vSAN)
• Nutanix HCI (Prism, Cluster Management, Lifecycle Operations)
• Datacenter migrations, consolidations, and infrastructure modernization
• Storage, networking, compute, and security technologies
• Performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization
• Infrastructure automation using PowerShell and/or Python
• Hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
• Advanced troubleshooting, incident management, and operational support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• VMware (VCP/VCA) and Nutanix (NCA/NCP) certifications are desirable.
