The Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building systems and infrastructure, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities equipment.  The role supports regulated laboratory environments, including critical infrastructure and compliance with EHS and industry standards.

 

This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is part of the Workplace Team within the Workplace Department located in Cambridge, UK. This is a full-time on-site position, supporting critical lab, office, and operational environments. May require occasional out-of-hours or con-call support and/or flexing shift start/end times.

  • High school diploma/equivalent or relevant technical qualification and 8-10+ years of experience in a facilities/lab setting

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 5-10kg routinely throughout the work day as needed
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30kg as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as facilities/laboratory work requires

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Construction project management experience
