Facility Operator | Part-Time | Temple Gardens Centre

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Facility Operator will perform a variety of tasks related to ice installation and preparations, event setup and tear-down, housekeeping duties, preventative facility maintenance, emergency repairs, and day-to-day operations while maintaining a cohesive and team approach to work environment with an expectation of a high level of customer service.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00 - $20.00 CAD.

The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw stands as southern Saskatchewan’s premier venue, encompassing 210,000 square feet of versatile space dedicated to community recreation and entertainment, boasting a 4500-seat arena, an 8-sheet curling rink with a two-tier lounge overlooking the ice and meeting and conference spaces. 

• Assist with arena ice installation, removal, and daily/weekly maintenance. Resurface hockey ice based on usage and need. The resurface schedule may change from day to day.
• Working knowledge of operations equipment, including staging, audiovisual, lighting, small equipment tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacer, edgers, etc.
• Assist with event preparations, including but not limited to stage setup and tear-down, a set of tables and chairs, AV equipment, and meeting room spaces as required.
• Set up and tear down and preparation of Main Tenant games and/or events
• Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns as required.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and fans.
• Perform maintenance, including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, maintaining exterior sidewalks, snow and ice removal, parking lots and grounds, and various other tasks.
• Cleaning to meet sanitation requirements and protocols. Areas included but not limited to bathrooms, bowl seating, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, and meeting rooms.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• 1 year of experience cleaning a business facility preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders/work from heights as required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work independently and under minimal supervision
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Strong communication skills required.
