Factory Assistants

We are a large company with a great reputation located in the beautiful port of Timaru! We are currently recruiting for full time factory assistants across two different roles, we require both trimmers and packers for this excellent opportunity! Hours and days of work are Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm or 9am-2:30 The ideal candidates will be reliable and enjoy working part of a team. You will enjoy a challenge and have a great attitude. Trimmers Clean, trim, slice, and section carcasses for future processing. Cut and trim meat to prepare for packing. Inspect fish products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove them along with any excess fat. Process primal parts into cuts that are ready for retail use. Other directives from management Packers Obtains supplies of seafood and assembles bags, package folders and cartons. Packs containers and bags with products, and counts, weighs and measures amounts and adjusts quantities. Wraps protective material around products, seals bags and containers, and attaches pre-printed labels. Counts and places bags and packages onto trays and racks, and into shipping cartons. Records information such as numbers, weight, times and dates. Monitors the filling of containers and adjusts machines to maintain volume and seal quality. Monitors the supply and quality of containers and contents of holding tanks. Checks the cleanliness and operation of machines, equipment and containers.
