  • Experience using web conferencing and virtual instruction platforms (e.g., Zoom) to facilitate synchronous online meetings, office hours, and remote instruction

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to student engagement and success

Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is seeking a full-time Psychology Instructor to join our faculty beginning in the Spring 2027 academic term. We are looking for an educator who is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. The ideal candidate will embrace a culture that values a broad range of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, and will contribute to an environment built on open communication, mutual respect, and shared success. We seek someone who is passionate about student learning, collegial collaboration, and helping cultivate a welcoming and engaging academic community.

Courses are offered day, evening and some weekends depending on student demands. Courses are delivered in a variety of instructional modalities, including:
○ In-person courses - instruction conducted on the Bloomington campus.
○ Online courses - asynchronous courses delivered through the College's learning management system.
○ Hybrid Courses – Courses that include a required synchronous component that may be delivered in person, remotely via Zoom, or through a combination of in-person and remote instruction.

Most courses are offered in eight-week sessions, providing an accelerated yet supportive learning experience.

Faculty may have the opportunity to teach across multiple instructional modalities based on departmental needs, qualifications, and scheduling preferences.

Salary: $50,000 9-month faculty (Aug - May); Summer contracts are available based on student enrollment. A 100% summer contract would pay 1/3 of the 9-month contract amount.

A qualified faculty member in psychology meets the discipline standard through one of two routes:

● Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, or any other professionally recognized specialty in psychology, or
