Fiber Field Maintenance Intern

Job Purpose
The Fiber Field Maintenance Intern will support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic telecom networks across field sites. This role involves frequent travel, outdoor work, and operational flexibility including night assignments
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cable networks
· Support troubleshooting of fiber faults (breaks, signal loss, connectivity issues)
· Perform basic inspections and preventive maintenance of fiber infrastructure
· Work alongside field engineers during site visits and emergency repairs
· Participate in tower/site visits and field operations
· Ensure proper handling of fiber tools and testing equipment
· Travel to multiple field locations as required
Knowledge & Experience
· Basic understanding of mobile communication networks
· Familiarity with cell site components such as BTS (Base Transceiver Station), antennas, and transmission equipment
· Awareness of basic telecom power systems including batteries, rectifiers, and backup power supply systems
· Exposure (academic or practical) to telecom site operations or maintenance activities is preferred
· Any prior hands-on experience in field-based technical work or telecom infrastructure is an added advantage
· Driving skill is essential.
· Understanding of site safety practices and outdoor technical work environment is beneficial
