Job Summary: The Category B Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire water systems, general plumbing systems, and related infrastructure in the Dar and Arusha regions. This role requires expertise in managing both fire water systems and general plumbing tasks, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician will be involved in troubleshooting, repairs, and routine inspections to ensure that both fire water systems and plumbing infrastructure are operational. Plumbing certification is an added advantage for this position but is not a mandatory requirement. Responsibilities: Install and maintain fire water systems, ensuring they are compliant with safety and regulatory standards. Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fire water systems. Install, repair, and maintain general plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues related to water flow, leaks, pressure, and system performance. Work with fire water system components such as pumps, valves, pipes, and other related parts to ensure proper operation. Ensure all plumbing work is compliant with local and national plumbing codes. Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs performed on fire water systems and plumbing. Provide reports on system status and necessary repairs or upgrades. Advise clients on the proper use and maintenance of plumbing and fire water systems. Collaborate with other technicians and contractors on large-scale installations or repairs. Travel to various job sites across Dar es Salaam and Arusha for plumbing and fire water system installation and maintenance tasks. Safely transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in plumbing systems is an added advantage. Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire water systems and plumbing systems. Strong understanding of fire water system components and plumbing infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret plumbing diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing issues. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel to different job sites and transport tools and equipment. Attention to detail and precision in work tasks. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations for plumbing and fire water systems.
