What you'll do

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and corrective repairs on Cardiac Ablation Solutions Affera™ systems and Surgical Robotics technologies in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Install, commission, validate, and decommission capital medical equipment at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, software, and biomedical equipment issues to minimise customer downtime.
  • Provide on-site technical support to clinicians, biomedical engineers, and hospital personnel regarding equipment operation and technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and quality system requirements for all service activities.
  • Partner with Technical Service, Quality, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Care teams to address product performance issues and customer feedback.
  • Support product upgrades, field corrective actions, and equipment lifecycle management activities.
  • Manage service inventory, tools, test equipment, and territory activities to ensure effective service delivery.

A Day in the Life

The Service & Repair team provides technical service, maintenance, and repair support for critical medical technologies used in hospital and clinical environments. This role supports a specialised portfolio across Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS), including the Affera™ platform, and Surgical Robotics systems. The team is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, system performance, and customer satisfaction through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, installations, and technical support activities.

This position is based in Perth, Western Australia and operates primarily in a field-based capacity. The territory covers Western Australia and South Australia, including Adelaide, with approximately 30% travel required to hospitals and healthcare facilities to support installations, maintenance, repairs, and customer service requirements.

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing service, repair, maintenance, and technical support for Cardiac Ablation Solutions Affera™ systems and Surgical Robotics technologies. The role serves as a key technical resource for customers, ensuring equipment performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance while supporting healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders across the assigned territory.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and corrective repairs on Cardiac Ablation Solutions Affera™ systems and Surgical Robotics technologies in accordance with manufacturer requirements.

  • Install, commission, validate, and decommission capital medical equipment at customer sites.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, software, and biomedical equipment issues to minimise customer downtime.
