Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility.  We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Finance Coordinator. The Finance Coordinator supports the financial team with cash management, and bank account reconciliations, as well as AP/AR support ensuring financial records and reporting are accurate and up to date. This is a support role for the financial accounting team and doesn’t have any direct reports. This is a full-time, permanent position. 


The Duties and Responsibilities:


Cash and Bank Reconciliation Support


  •  Download daily transaction reports from banking platforms and other financial systems
  •  Upload and match transactions within the ERP/accounting system
  •  Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
  •  Collaborate with internal teams to resolve cash or POS discrepancies
  •  Assist with monitoring cash balances and flag irregularities
  •  Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation


Finance Support


  •  Vendor account set up and maintenance including credit applications
  •  Track missing receipts and invoices to ensure timely upload into required software systems
  •  Maintain organized financial records to support audit and compliance requirements
  •  Provide administrative support to accounts payable and receivable
  •  Other finance-related duties as assigned


Month- End & Reporting Support


  •  Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of reconciliation schedules
  •  Assist in posting standard journal entries
  •  Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
  •  Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting and treasury functions
  •  Other duties as assigned


The Qualifications:


  • Post-secondary certification, diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Certificate in accounting or financial principles is an asset
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance related role.
