🌱 Who we are

Mother Root is the fiery ginger non-alcoholic aperitif. We harness the power of apple cider vinegar to serve up a dose of good feelings. Our mission is to redefine the evening ritual of drinking well and feeling good, with drinks that are complex, delicious and rooted in nature.

We're the UK's fastest growing drinks brand and the number one non-alcoholic spirit. We were a £7m business last year and we're on track for more than £20m this year. Next we're accelerating that growth, and becoming one of the leading non-alcoholic brands in the US as well as the UK. Small but mighty team, big category, plenty still to build.

We're building a team where ambitious people do the best work of their careers, supporting each other and making something they truly believe in. We believe work should be joyful, purposeful and full of flavour.

🚀 The Role

As Mother Root scales, our finance function is growing, and so is the day-to-day operational load that keeps it running smoothly.

The Finance Executive is a brand new, full-time role created to take ownership of the operational and administrative backbone of finance, supporting the Finance Manager and freeing up the senior team to focus on strategy, forecasting and building the function for the next stage of growth.

Reporting into our Finance Manager, and working closely with our Head of Finance and our outgoing outsourced finance partner during the handover period, you'll be the person who makes sure suppliers get paid on time, our bank accounts run smoothly, work with external accountants to ensure US tax obligations are met, and finance records are pristine. You'll be the dependable engine room of finance, the person everyone trusts to get the operational basics right, every single time.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with 3 days a week + at our London HQ (Fora, Farringdon), giving you full access to the team, our processes and the buzz of a fast-growing brand.

📋 What You’ll Do

  • Own staff expenses and reimbursements: manage the end-to-end process for office and remote staff expenses, including company card costs and reimbursements

  • Help us level up our finance operations: spot friction in our processes and work with the finance team to improve approval workflows, payment timelines and controls

  • Work calmly under pressure: month-end, payment runs and deadlines don't ruffle you

  • Are excited to grow with a brand on a serious upward trajectory, and want to learn from a sharp, senior finance team
