The Opportunity 

As the Finance Lead, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, project controls, governance, compliance, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will establish and maintain best-practice financial systems, budgeting and forecasting processes, cash flow management, performance reporting, and commercial governance frameworks. 

You will play a key role in supporting project financing activities, managing lender and investor relationships, overseeing project cost performance, and providing strategic advice to senior leadership. This role offers the opportunity to influence major commercial decisions while ensuring strong financial discipline, risk management, and delivery excellence across the project. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the financial strategy, governance, reporting, and commercial controls functions, ensuring effective financial management across all phases of the project. 

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, project financing activities, cost control, and project performance reporting. 

  • Provide executive oversight of project controls, including cost management, scheduling integration, forecasting, change control, risk management, and performance measurement. 

  • Manage relationships with lenders, investors, auditors, advisors, and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with financing obligations and reporting requirements. 

  • Lead financial risk management, audit activities, governance frameworks, and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate reporting obligations. 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • CPA, CA or equivalent qualified finance professional with a tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. 

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior finance leadership role within major infrastructure, construction, energy, utilities, PPP, or other large-scale capital project environments. 

  • Strong expertise in project finance, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, commercial governance, risk management, and project controls. 

  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, lead high-performing teams, and communicate complex financial information to a broad range of audiences. 

  • Experience working with large project budgets, funding arrangements, contractual frameworks, and investor or lender reporting requirements. 

  • Exposure to renewable energy, electricity transmission, utilities, or major infrastructure delivery projects will be highly regarded.
