What you'll do

  • Prepares and records equity-related journal entries, including entries associated with stock-based compensation and other equity transactions, and ensures appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
  • Downloads, reviews, and analyzes Shareworks reports and other equity-related information to support journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and SEC reporting.
  • Reconciles equity-related general ledger accounts and supporting schedules, investigates variances and discrepancies, and ensures the completeness and accuracy of recorded activity.
  • Performs variance analysis within the financial statements utilizing analytical and research skills, reporting tools, and collaboration with accounting and other departments.
  • Analyzes supporting documentation received from accounting and other departments to determine accuracy and completeness.
  • Ascertains that transactions are properly supported and classified in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepares and maintains supporting schedules for quarterly and annual SEC filings including Form 10-Q, 10-K, 11-K, and Proxy.
  • Prepares and maintains SEC reporting using Workiva and assists with XBRL tagging for financial statements and disclosures.
  • Prepares financial statement and footnote disclosure tie-outs to support the quarterly and annual SEC filings and ensures amounts agree to the underlying financial records and supporting schedules.
  • Prepares tie-outs of investor relations activities including SEC filings and press releases for periodic earnings announcements, presentation materials for investor relations events, board/committee meetings, and other tasks as needed.
  • Supports quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation and responding to external auditor requests.
  • Assists with complex and special assignments or project with the team or manager. Applies experience and knowledge of industry, company, policies, and regulations to resolve or recommend solutions. Discusses escalated issue recommendations with manager.

Supports the preparation and review of Forms 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings, interacts with internal departments and external auditors, and assists in ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and policies and procedures. Responsible for accounting and reporting activities related to equity, including stock-based compensation and equity transactions. Prepares and maintains financial reporting schedules, equity journal entries, equity reconciliation, and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual external financial reporting and SEC filings. Ensures accurate and timely distribution of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and quarterly review deliverables.

Minimum Requirements
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience
• At least two (2) years of public accounting or Financial Reporting work experience accurately preparing various filings
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of regulations and GAAP
• Familiar with technical accounting, including SEC reporting requirements and FASB standards

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, identify discrepancies, and determine appropriate solutions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, SEC filings, and supporting documentation.

• Ability to analyze financial information, identify unusual trends or variances, and understand the underlying business drivers.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting tight reporting deadlines.

• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized workpapers and supporting documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to establish effective working relationships and collaborate with employees and management across the organization.

• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative and continuously develop accounting and financial reporting knowledge.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
