Food production line leader

£14.50 per hour | Monday–Friday | Temp to Perm | Buckingham

MK Personnel Solutions are recruiting for a Food Production Line Leader / Lead Operative to join a growing food manufacturing business on a long-term, temp-to-perm basis.

We’re looking for someone with previous food production or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience who is confident working in a fast-paced production environment and is ready to take on additional responsibility.

You could already be working as a Line Leader, Team Leader or Lead Operative, or you may be an experienced Production Operative or Machine Operative who is ready to take the next step.

Pay: £14.50 per hour
Main shift: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm–2:00am
Location: Outskirts of Buckingham
Contract: Temp to Perm
Start: ASAP

Please note: Due to the location and finishing time, your own transport is essential.

Some flexibility with working hours is required, as occasional shifts may run 3:00pm–12:00am or 4:00pm–1:00am.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work hands-on within production while helping to coordinate the team and keep the production line running smoothly.

Your duties will include:

• Leading and supporting Production Operatives during the shift
• Helping organise workloads across the production line
• Ensuring daily production targets are achieved
• Monitoring quality, hygiene and food safety standards
• Operating and understanding production machinery
• Identifying and troubleshooting minor production or machinery issues
• Completing production paperwork accurately
• Training and supporting new team members
• Helping maintain good attendance, productivity and teamwork
• Supporting cleaning and changeovers when required
• Escalating any machinery, quality or production issues appropriately

This is a hands-on position, so you’ll be working alongside the team rather than simply supervising from the sidelines.

What We’re Looking For

Previous food manufacturing or pharmaceutical production experience is essential.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience as a:

• Food Production Line Leader
• Production Team Leader
• Lead Operative
• Senior Production Operative
• Machine Operative
• Food Production Operative ready to progress

You’ll also need:

• Good understanding of production processes
• Confidence working around production machinery
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to complete production paperwork accurately
• A reliable and flexible approach to work
• Confidence supporting and motivating other team members
• Ability to remain calm and solve problems during a busy shift
• Your own transport due to the location and shift times

Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, but we’re also happy to consider an experienced production operative who can demonstrate the right attitude and potential to step up.
