FOOD SERVICES SPECIALIST - CATERING

This opportunity is an entry-level position for an individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment and dynamic workload within a large team. They must be comfortable supporting task ownership within culinary, hospitality, porter, and dish teams, as well as be flexible enough to switch from one to the other throughout the day as instructed by leadership. Specific daily tasks may change on short notice according to staffing and business needs. These may include but are not limited to the following: food and beverage preparation, meal delivery, serving guests, maintaining the cleanliness of dining spaces, and stocking or distributing products. This individual should be cross trained in more than one specific role so that they are able to fill in at a moment’s notice. The food services specialist position supports the mission by providing excellent customer service, flexible support, and the ability to aid in production and service of quality food and beverage options to boost morale and productivity within SpaceX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of experience in food preparation, customer service, or other food services support roles

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of cooking experience
  • Ability to take initiative in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Possession or willingness to obtain food handler's card
  • Experience working in a high-volume output environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook primarily)
  • Sound understanding of food safety and sanitation practices

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to carry large heavy items, such as dishes in tubs or trays unassisted (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 10 hours a day
  • Ability to work all shifts and available for extended hours and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Level 1: $22.00/hour
Level 2: $23.00/hour
Level 3: $24.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
