FRRA Controls Officer - Associate

As a/an External Reporting Associate within the External Reporting function, you will oversee governance, controls, and reporting activities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely regulatory and SEC submissions. You will partner across lines of business and control stakeholders to deliver a consistent operating rhythm for recurring deliverables, maintain audit-ready evidence, and drive timely issue resolution and escalation. You will apply accounting and regulatory knowledge to validate balance sheet items, ensure appropriate treatments, and strengthen the control environment supporting published financial results.

Job Responsibilities 

• Apply current product, industry, and market knowledge to specialty reporting topics and requirements.
• Lead governance execution across operational risk and control domains to deliver consistent, repeatable control activities and management reporting.
• Own the end-to-end operating rhythm for core control deliverables, including KPIs/KRIs, senior management updates, thematic reviews, and monitoring activities.
• Oversee governance for enablement platforms and tooling, including intake, triage, onboarding, maintenance, controlled deactivation, and periodic insight packs.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to clarify ownership, manage dependencies, resolve issues, and escalate urgent matters.
• Maintain disciplined documentation and evidence management with centrally stored, retrievable, audit-ready artifacts and decisions.
• Provide executive-ready communications summarizing status, risks/issues, and forward plans for leadership.
• Assess issues and outcomes thoroughly and communicate financial impacts and potential concerns to lines of business.
• Adhere to proof and control procedures to reconcile regulatory filings, SEC filings, and other published reports (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K, Call Report, FR Y-9C, Pillar III).
• Execute control procedures and edit checks to ensure integrity of reported financial results and accurate regulator submissions.
• Interpret regulatory and SEC requirements and support reporting improvement initiatives focused on data quality and process enhancement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

• Bring 7+ years of experience in a Finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, and/or regulatory reporting.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of financial reporting controls and reconciliation practices across filings and published reports.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally and translate complex topics for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills with rigorous attention to detail.
• Manage time and priorities effectively while delivering against deadlines in a control environment.
• Utilize strong Excel and general computer skills to support analysis, controls, and reporting outputs.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

• Leverage experience in Product Control or Financial Control and apply working knowledge of SEC and regulatory reporting.
• Demonstrate project management skills to drive governance routines and improvement initiatives.
• Build effective partnerships across functions, locations, and businesses and navigate senior stakeholder expectations.
