What you'll do

  • Develop, test, and maintain full-stack software solutions across Angular frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs, carrying features from written requirements through implementation and release.
  • Read requirements and tickets critically, clarify scope and assumptions, and identify edge cases or missing details before development begins.
  • Design and implement data changes, including Doctrine entities, relationships, migrations, API payloads, services, controllers, and the interfaces that consume them.
  • Work within established application patterns and conventions, extending existing modules and adapting appropriately as the codebase evolves.
  • Verify functionality before review by testing features in the running application, validating resulting data, and addressing scenarios not explicitly identified in the original requirements.
  • Debug issues across the full request path, including browser behavior, network requests, APIs, application logs, backend services, client-side state, and user interfaces.
  • Write and maintain meaningful unit and end-to-end test coverage and partner with Quality Assurance to ensure features are tested against clear acceptance criteria.
  • Use AI development tools as a primary part of the development process while independently reviewing, validating, and taking accountability for all generated code and recommendations.
  • Create clear, reviewable pull requests and participate in code reviews, documenting changes, assumptions, and intentionally excluded scope.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience carrying software features from written requirements through development, testing, review, and production release.
  • Ability to read and work with TypeScript and PHP and to evaluate whether code, including AI-generated code, is correct and appropriate for the application.
  • Strong understanding of how modern web applications work, including HTTP, authentication and permissions, APIs, object-relational mapping (ORM), client-side state management, and the connections between frontend and backend systems.
  • Experience with a component-based frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue and comfort working across both frontend and backend application layers.
  • Comfort with relational data, including reading schemas, understanding relationships and foreign keys, and using SQL to interpret application data and ORM-generated queries.
  • Working knowledge of Git, command-line tools, Docker-based development environments, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to reproducing, isolating, testing, and resolving issues.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working through ambiguity while collaborating effectively with developers, QA, Product, and business stakeholders.
  • Working comfort with AI development tools, or demonstrated aptitude and interest in making them a primary part of the development process while recognizing their limitations.

Nice to have

  • Preferred experience with Angular, NgRx, PrimeNG, Symfony, Doctrine, Vitest, Angular Testing Library, Playwright, PHPUnit, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with professional services, accounting, or advisory environments is also beneficial.
