About this role

Overview

The Real Estate Collateral Specialist will play a critical role in managing the Bank’s loans secured by real property collateral. The Specialist is responsible for accurate onboarding of real estate collateral to the core system to ensure compliance with bank processes and regulatory requirements. The Specialist will ensure that all requested collateral maintenance is completed in an accurate and timely manner. 

What You’ll Do

  • Performs complex and/or non-routine administrative tasks exercising significant judgment and discretion in the performance of duties related to the ongoing oversight and management of the Bank’s real estate collateral 
  • Process complex and non-standard collateral boarding and maintenance requests, and complete complex loan research in compliance with Bank, regulatory and investor guidelines 
  • Gather, interpret, and transcribe complex and non-standard information and/or related files to ensure loan boarding packages are input into core system according to bank, regulatory and investor guidelines. Documents reviewed may include loan approval forms, appraisals, title work, insurance, and all other requirements necessary to properly perfect our collateral position.
  • Ensures data accuracy in system of record as related to collateral identification
  • Collaborate with the Customer team to resolve problems related to our collateral properties
  • Communicate with relationship managers, credit partners, vendor personnel, and others, as appropriate, to ensure bank is properly protected and collateral is properly identified
  • Provide on-going support to internal partners, as needed, for issues related to real estate collateral
  • Adhere to Corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures as prescribed
  • Exemplify behaviors in alignment with the bank’s vision, mission, and culture; exhibit professionalism at all times
  • Provide world-class service to internal and external clients with a sense of urgency and positive attitude
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization and time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities to meet multiple deadlines
  

Requirements For Success

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 

  • Experience with retail and commercial lending regulations and policies 
    • Minimum 3 years of collateral servicing, loan operations, or real estate documentation experience 
  • Knowledge of real estate related documentation such as appraisals and tax cards

Required Skills:

  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems with guidance
  • Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with lenders and LOAs in all lines of business
 

 Preferred Skills:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Conditions of Employment

Position requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

This position requires up to 5% travel.

Pay Range

USD $18.63 - USD $27.82 /Hr.
