Sustainable alterna­tives for fossil-based chemicals and materials include plastic bot­tles for drinks, films for food packaging and electronics, fibers for textiles and even material used in toys.

 

Our Finance department is not a standard Finance department. Avantium is a unique environment: small enough to make a real impact, ambitious enough to be listed, and dynamic enough to make sure no day is the same. We are always moving, building and improving. That means there is room to learn from what is already in place, bring more structure where it adds value, and help us take the next step in how Finance supports the business.

 Responsibility

As GL Accountant, you are part of a compact Finance team with broad exposure to the business. You work close to the numbers, but also close to the people behind them. You help keep our financial foundation strong, improve the way we work, and translate complexity into clear, reliable output.

 

This includes;

• Own and improve key general ledger accounting activities,
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes,
• Contribute to IFRS-based reporting and external audit preparation,
• Bring structure to processes, reconciliations and reporting routines,
• Use systems, data and smart tools to make Finance simpler and stronger.

What do you bring?

You bring a solid accounting background and the curiosity to understand a business that is anything but standard. You enjoy getting the basics right, but you are also energized by improvement: making processes clearer, connecting with stakeholders and finding practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.

 

You also have;

• 5–8 years of experience in general ledger accounting,
• Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with financial reporting,
• A background in Big 8 audit or advisory is a strong advantage,
• Affinity with, or experience in, Business Central,
• Interest in A.I. tools and applications that can improve Finance processes.

You will be successful in this position if you are a natural bridge-builder: someone who connects Finance with the business, asks the right questions and brings people along. You are self-starting, pragmatic and creative in solving problems. You do not need a fully corporate machine around you to get things done; you know how to navigate a growing organization where not everything is predefined, and you enjoy building on what is there.
