Global Commodity Manager, Rack Power, Infrastructure Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple projects and suppliers, negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements, from statements of work to master supply agreements, to secure favorable pricing and terms and ensure supply assurance at scale.
• Lead cross-functional teams through the supplier selection process for new platforms and partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that balance innovation, time-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Oversee the operational aspects of the supply chain, including schedules, capacity, and supply chain flexibility, while communicating status and risks to management, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Mitigate supply chain risks and measure partner performance through regular business reviews to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a high level of industry expertise, keeping current on supplier and market conditions to inform sourcing strategies and negotiations.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management or sourcing with data center rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, including agreement negotiations, pricing negotiations, assurance of supply, capacity planning and supplier development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA.
• 7 years of experience in end-to-end rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, manufacturing and supply chain processes, and strategic business planning and execution.
• Experience with data center and rack power commodities.
• Experience with new and evolving power technologies in the data center space.
• Experience with rack power conversion or power back-up manufacturing processes.
