What you'll do

  • Own every insurance program at Fluidstack end to end, from program design and broker selection through placement, renewal, and budget, across property, construction, liability, and cargo lines.
  • Run claims from first notice to resolution, driving brokers, TPAs, carriers, and Legal to outcomes instead of waiting on them.
  • Drive loss control and property risk engineering across operating sites and active gigawatt-scale construction, turning risk engineering recommendations into completed fixes with Construction, HSE, and Data Center Operations.
  • Gather and analyze exposure data across a fleet growing by gigawatts and land complete, on-time renewal submissions to underwriters every cycle.
  • Set the insurance requirements in leases, EPC contracts, and vendor and customer agreements, and review counterparty terms so coverage gaps never surface mid-claim.

What they're looking for

  • You've managed commercial property and casualty insurance programs yourself, on the corporate risk management or brokerage side, and you know how property, construction, and liability lines actually get structured, placed, and priced.
  • You've run claims to resolution, including large or contested ones, coordinating litigation counsel, TPAs, adjusters, and carriers on strategy rather than just processing paperwork.
  • You've worked property risk engineering in the field: walking sites, pushing loss control recommendations through the people who own the fix, and knowing what underwriters will flag before they do.
  • You've built renewal submissions under hard deadlines with high-volume, messy exposure data pulled from stakeholders who had other priorities.
  • You read contracts for insurance terms and catch the gap between what an agreement requires and what a policy actually covers.
  • You explain insurance to engineers, lawyers, and executives clearly enough that they act on it.

Nice to have

  • Insurance designations (CPCU, ARM)
  • Capital-intensive or construction-heavy industries (data centers, energy, semiconductors)
  • Construction insurance programs (builder's risk, OCIP/CCIP)
  • High-value equipment in transit (cargo, stock throughput)

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate

  • Be a barrel. Full autonomy. Own things end to end, take on scope without being asked, no permission required to operate outside your core role.

  • Insane urgency. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • Reason from first principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

  • Build something that actually matters. If you're going to spend your time, spend it on something that matters to the world.

The Finance Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

  • Vendor/broker management. Source, evaluate, and negotiate with insurance brokers and carriers; run renewal RFPs to ensure competitive pricing and coverage terms as the portfolio grows.

  • Premium and budget management. Own the insurance budget, forecast premium spend as new sites and assets come online, and manage the renewal cycle across property, casualty, and builder's risk lines.

  • Compliance and requirements tracking. Ensure coverage meets contractual requirements from lenders, JV partners, customers, and landlords (minimum limits, additional insured status, certificates of insurance), and keep documentation audit-ready.

Role Scope

What We're Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You read contracts for insurance terms and catch the gap between what an agreement requires and what a policy actually covers.

  • You explain insurance to engineers, lawyers, and executives clearly enough that they act on it.

  • Bonus: Insurance designations (CPCU, ARM). Capital-intensive or construction-heavy industries (data centers, energy, semiconductors). Construction insurance programs (builder's risk, OCIP/CCIP). High-value equipment in transit (cargo, stock throughput).

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
