  • Drive Manufacturing Innovations: Identify and guide technical studies enabling Design for Manufacturability—ranging from process engineering (e.g., particle technology, lyophilization/freeze-drying) to overarching technology topics such as solvent supply and disposal.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Serve as a specialized advisor to project managers, offering expert scoping, optioneering support, and high-level troubleshooting across complex technical interfaces.
  • Lead Sustainable Manufacturing: Coordinate and lead a dedicated global matrix team in key technical domains (e.g., reagents, sensors) as part of the process Global Expert Panel (GEP).
  • Manage Sustainability Projects: Drive sustainability-focused project reviews (with a primary focus on Early Phases) and own key deliverables such as Sustainability One-Pagers.
  • Represent GCI Internally & Externally: Represent sustainable production within international networks, champion Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments, and represent Roche in external expert forums (such as the Dechema Forum).
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and nurture strong, highly collaborative relationships with global partners across MSAT, R&D, and leadership.

Your new team:

You will join the Global Capital Investment (GCI) Technology department. In a highly dynamic, international environment, you will collaborate closely with experts across Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), Safety, Health & Environment (Group SHE), and the Global Operations (GO) Sustainability Community. Responsibilities | What awaits you

As Global Lead, you will drive critical initiatives at the intersection of manufacturing innovation and sustainability, embedding green standards across our global sites.

You will take on the following key responsibilities:

Qualifications | What you bring to the team

You combine analytical sharpness with enthusiasm, alongside a passion for driving meaningful, sustainable change.

  • Education: University degree (Master's/Diploma) or equivalent qualification in engineering, natural sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Professional Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience within engineering, manufacturing, or a highly regulated matrix environment.

  • Project Management & Sustainability Expertise: Proven track record in international technical project management, with deep knowledge of sustainability practices (including GHG reporting and Life Cycle Assessments / LCA).

  • Technical Knowledge: Broad understanding of modern manufacturing technologies and emerging industry trends.

  • Strategic Capability & Drive: Strong resilience, a passion for constructively challenging the status quo, and the ability to navigate and make an impact within complex matrix organizations.

Duration: Temporary assignment for 2 years
