Global P2P Process Lead

The Opportunity

A large, complex and highly international organisation is looking to appoint a Global P2P Process Owner to take strategic ownership of the end-to-end Procure to Pay process across the Group.

This is a senior enterprise-level position, responsible for shaping the global P2P strategy, operating model, governance and continuous improvement agenda across multiple geographies and entities.

The role goes well beyond traditional accounts payable management. You'll be responsible for transforming and standardising the global P2P function, driving improvements across purchasing, supplier management, invoice processing, payments, controls, processes and systems, while leveraging automation, data and emerging technologies to create a more scalable, efficient and digitally enabled finance operation.

Reporting into senior Group Finance leadership, you'll work closely with Finance, Procurement, Shared Services, Technology, Operations and senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing strategic leadership across the global P2P process.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously evolve the global P2P strategy, operating model and governance framework.
• Drive standardisation and harmonisation of P2P processes across multiple geographies, entities and business units.
• Oversee the end-to-end P2P lifecycle, from requisition and purchase order through to invoice processing, payment and supplier management.
• Drive improvements across invoice processing, three-way matching, payment processes, supplier onboarding and master data.
• Establish and maintain Group-wide policies, controls and standards across the P2P process.
• Lead a multi-year P2P transformation roadmap, aligned with wider finance and business transformation priorities.
• Drive process simplification, standardisation and automation across the global P2P function.
• Lead ERP optimisation and the adoption of automation, AI and advanced analytics to improve P2P performance and user experience.
• Establish clear KPIs, SLAs and performance measures, using data and insight to drive continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with Shared Services and Procurement to improve service quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to improve working capital, payment performance and overall P2P efficiency.
• Act as a key escalation point for significant process, control, supplier and payment issues.
• Work closely with Technology and Transformation teams on major finance systems and process transformation programmes.
• Influence senior stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Operations and Technology to adopt global standards and new ways of working.
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance and audit readiness across the global P2P process.
• Provide clear, data-driven insight to senior leadership on P2P performance, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Lead and influence a high-performing global P2P community, embedding accountability, continuous improvement and strong stakeholder management.

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance transformation or process leader with a strong background in global P2P / Procure to Pay environments.

You'll ideally bring:

• 10+ years' experience within Finance, Procurement or Finance Transformation, with significant exposure to global process ownership, finance transformation or shared services.
• Proven experience designing, standardising and implementing end-to-end P2P processes within complex, multi-entity organisations.
• Strong understanding of Procure to Pay, Accounts Payable, purchasing, supplier management and financial controls.
• A track record of leading significant finance transformation, process re-engineering or ERP implementation programmes.
• Experience operating across multiple countries and within complex, matrixed organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior and executive-level stakeholders across Finance, Procurement and Technology.
• Experience delivering measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, controls, automation and service quality.
• A strong understanding of how technology, automation and AI can be applied to modernise P2P processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations.
• A strategic but hands-on approach, with the ability to operate effectively at both Group and operational level.
• Experience working with shared service or global business service environments would be highly desirable.
• The ability to manage complexity and ambiguity while remaining focused on outcomes and delivery.
• An accounting, procurement or relevant professional qualification would be highly desirable.

This is a genuinely global finance transformation leadership role, rather than a traditional P2P or Accounts Payable management position.

You'll have the opportunity to shape how a large international organisation operates its P2P function, with significant exposure to finance transformation, procurement, technology, automation, AI, ERP optimisation and global process standardisation.

You'll work across Finance, Procurement, Technology, Operations and Shared Services, influencing senior stakeholders and helping to build a more scalable, efficient and high-performing global finance function.
