About this role

Job Description:

Job Purpose/Overview
The Global Commercial Solution Architect will be a key element of our global transformational core team to architect, design and build platform solutions that will support our Commercial Agility Transformation (CAT 2.0) ambition. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, efficient, and robust digital Commercial solutions that optimize operations, enhance productivity, and drive innovation. The role operates at the Global Pet Nutrition level, as part of PN Architecture of Tomorrow (AOT) team and works with the Pet Nutrition (PN) Global Commercial Digital Product teams and Business leaders to architect and define PN Commercial Digital products.  This IT Infrastructure/Systems/Solution Architecture work involves developing the core technical platform, capabilities, and services that support PN Commercial business processes and data including:

  • Mapping the relationships between IT platform/infrastructure components (i.e., Technology End Users, IT Systems Software & Hardware, and Info-Communications Transmission Networks)

  • Identifying the key technology interactions and dependencies across systems/platforms impacting the organisation’s ability to achieve integration, compatibility, and performance targets

  • Evaluating total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT platform/infrastructure alternatives

Key Responsibilities

The overall purpose and accountabilities can be described as below in more details:

  • Own and maintain detailed solution design (HLD/LLD) for each sprint/release increment, including data flows, integration sequencing, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security) baked in at design time

  • Own the technical implementation pattern (RAG pipeline design, prompt/agent orchestration, model integration via APIs) and work directly with data science/ML engineering teams during build.

  • Sit in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and architecture sync ceremonies to ensure designs are buildable within sprint capacity and technical debt is surfaced early

  • Translate program/product roadmap into solution designs and detailed architecture specs for Commercial Digital Solutions

  • Define architecture patterns for GenAI/LLM-based solutions (RAG, agentic workflows, model orchestration), evaluate build-vs-buy for AI capabilities

  • Architect integration patterns between Commercial systems and the enterprise data platform/data lake, ensure solutions are designed for analytics/AI consumption

  • Lead structured vendor evaluations (PoCs, RFPs) for buy decisions, including TCO and exit-strategy analysis

  • Present and defend designs at Architecture Review Boards (ARB) or equivalent governance forums; ensure designs go through formal sign-off

  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and solution architects to ensure alignment with overall architectural goals and strategies.

  • Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear business language.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • Hands-on experience architecting multi-step agentic AI workflows, including agent-to-agent orchestration, context and memory management, and integration of LLM-based reasoning with enterprise data sources and APIs

  • Experience evaluating vendor and open-source agentic AI platforms against enterprise requirements — including assessing agent reliability, hallucination risk, tool-call accuracy, cost-per-task, and observability

  • At least 8 to 10 years working in a Digital Tech related role in software development/Implementation with a focus on architecture and design

  • Working knowledge of Commercial domain platforms relevant to CPG(e.g CRM, Trade Promotion Management, Revenue Growth Management), API integration and ERP systems.

  • Hands-on experience designing and building solutions on Azure and Google cloud platforms, data analytics, and machine learning concepts.

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in Commercial domain.

  • Practical experience with at least one AI/ML implementation pattern in production

  • Proficiency in software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Must be customer focused with demonstrated ability to form productive relationship including business leaders, DT associates and project leaders.
