POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Global Program Manager is responsible for the leadership and support for the Program Management teams within the global divisions, which provides Program Management services and oversight to selected programs focused on delivering successful business outcomes. This individual guided by generally defined goals and objectives that have tangible, measurable outcomes and works under the broad supervision of the Director, Global Product Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL
- Delivers successful business outcomes ensuring all Programs are delivered on time, and within the scope and budget
- Manage, monitor and analyze key tasks, activities and cost through the multiple phases of the program
- Involvement in global, and sometimes regional, customer negotiations
- Prioritize issues and make decisions within the guidelines of the defined business processes
- Keeps the Executive Management Teams and the Program Management community informed on status, issues and risks associated with the selected Programs
- Supports the ongoing development of Program Management discipline and professionalism as viewed internally and externally
- Serves as the authority on Program Management methods and practices and ensures their integration with other corporate governing processes (such as Team Center EC and PEP)
- Provide updates on all program responsible Global Programs (either directly or through divisional Program Managers)
- Ensure program initiation through to implementation for all responsible Global Programs ensuring that business outcomes and values are met
- Oversee the management of Program budgets, schedules, scope and issues including financial management and risk management
- Overview and lead Launch readiness reviews when required to assist facilities that require additional support
- Monitor and report on global specific programs, providing status and performance against specified metrics to the Leadership Team
- Ensure metrics are in place to measure GPM Program effectiveness (NOC Closure, Engineering Budget Adherence, Global Program Tooling Allocation, etc.)
- Create, update and manage TCAS processes for global change management
- Upholds the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna’s Operational Principles, Magna’s Environmental Health and Safety Policy & Procedures, Magna Closures, Mirrors, and Lighting Quality Policy, Program Execution Process and Business Protocols. Must understand and respect the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
- Provide functional or technical guidance and/or informal training or instruction to co-workers.
- Occasionally coordinates the work of others including the assignment of tasks to employees, co-workers and/or volunteers.
- Directs the work to be completed but is not responsible for the supervision of workers.
- Provides input into hiring, terminating and performance evaluation decisions.
FINANCIAL & LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Involvement in financial matters is on a level of providing data only and/or making recommendation. May purchase small items with consent.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed
- Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards
- Review and adhere to MCML’s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies
- Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues
- Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment
- In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- A Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Experience with Mechatronics products, product development and program launches
- Experience in Program Management
- Strong analytical skills and computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Effective communication and coordination with co-workers, direct reports, counterparts and Sr. Executive Leaders internal and externally of our organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal, group presentation skills
- Timely and Effective Responsiveness to Requests
- Thrive on challenges and decision-making
- Self-starter and a team player who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Must have a past record of accomplishment with Flawless Launch activity as well as a proven record of accomplishment to have met cost and timing timelines, quality excellence and exceed financial targets/budgets
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The majority of the job is performed in a standard office environment with minimal risk or harmful elements
- Utilizing computer and/or telephone excessively
- Job requires dealing with confidential and sensitive information and situations
- Job requires handling of stressful situations on occasion.
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must have or be able to attain/maintain a current Passport
- Travel (both foreign and domestic)
