Governance and Oversight Manager – Perpetual Corporate Trust

About the Role

As Governance and Oversight Manager, you will help deliver an effective distributor, advertising and marketing oversight framework. Your work will support compliance with Design and Distribution Obligations, known as DDO, while helping the business identify and manage regulatory and operational risk.

You will work closely with colleagues across governance, transaction management, client management, compliance and risk. You will also build productive relationships with service providers, external distributors and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the Distributor Management and Oversight Framework in line with policy requirements and agreed timeframes
• Review and approve advertising and marketing content to support regulatory compliance and relevant marketing strategies
• Engage with and train our investment managers and material distributors on DDO, advertising and marketing expectations
• Undertake assessments and investigations of potential significant dealings
• Analyse oversight outcomes and prepare clear reporting for management
• Support reporting to management, the Compliance Committee and the Board
• Guide and support the Governance and Oversight Associate in completing key processes
• Improve oversight frameworks and implement changes that strengthen efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

• At least 7 years of experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to managed funds
• Demonstrated experience in compliance, marketing governance, regulatory oversight or a related financial services environment
• An understanding of managed investment schemes and their service provider operations
• Knowledge of the legal, regulatory, compliance and risk frameworks governing managed investment schemes
• Understanding of Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO) and Target Market Determinations
• Experience reviewing or compiling marketing materials, factsheets and other client-facing communications
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage, influence and challenge when required
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
