What you'll do
- Provide administrative and governance support to committees, sub-committees, partnerships, executive meetings, and member working groups.
- Arrange and clerk formal meetings, including preparing agendas, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Attend meetings, take accurate minutes, and record decisions and action points.
- Ensure compliance with the Constitution, statutory requirements, and governance procedures.
- Support councillors and senior officers with meeting administration and governance advice.
- Coordinate appointments to external and partnership bodies, including nominations and annual reporting.
- Organise and administer councillor training programmes.
- Maintain accurate records of Member training and development activities.
- Manage administration for newly elected Members.
- Monitor governance deadlines and ensure timely publication of agendas, reports, and minutes.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and safety policies across all duties.
