Shift Pattern

• Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00
• Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00

The Opportunity

A leading precision engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Centreless Grinder Setter/Operator to join its growing production team in Havant.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected manufacturer producing precision-engineered components to exacting standards. You'll play a key role within the machining department, setting and operating centreless grinding machinery while ensuring parts meet stringent quality and tolerance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate centreless grinding machines.
• Carry out plunge and through-feed grinding operations.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Centreless Grinder Setter/Operator.
• Experience with plunge and/or through-feed grinding processes.
• The ability to work to tight tolerances and demanding quality standards.
• Experience using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other inspection equipment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position, and applicants requiring visa sponsorship cannot be considered.
