Hardware Development Engineer, Amazon Ring VDC

Amazon Ring is looking for a Hardware Development Engineer who will be a part of our global electrical engineering team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest product quality standards and driving continuous improvement for the products.
Development of full devices requires system level design for SoC platforms, Memory, Sensors, Power Architecture, and related peripheral functions while integrating with like radar, cameras, WiFi, ETH, etc. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a fast-paced environment.
You are expected to represent as a Design owner and dive deep into difficult problems for root cause analysis and arrange appropriate solutions.


Key job responsibilities
• EE development from RFQ to MP (mass production)
• Hands on for circuit design, study, build and verification
• Write or contribute to development of test specifications, criteria and procedures
• Hands on to find root cause, and a solution or workaround for bugs
• Second source qualification, cost down task and manufacturing efficiencies
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and Sustaining engineering

As a member of the hardware engineering team you will own next-generation product design and validation, delighting our customers with best quality. You will interact with a versatile team of engineers to design, develop, validate, and launch products at large scale. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position. You will work with experts in multiple technology areas.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Experience using common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of FW operation, MCU structure, OTA, GPIO settings
- SI/PI knowledge — high speed circuit layout guide, buck/boost/LDO theory, basic components selection capability and experience of hands-on measurement
- Experience in schematic design, PCB layout and basic knowledge of EE CAD design tools
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers (CM)

Preferred Qualifications

- English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience identifying bugs in architecture, algorithms, functionality, and performance with strong overall debugging skills
- Experience working with emerging technologies
- Strong expertise in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
- Experience building high volume consumer products
- Self-motivated, self-driven, team player with strong ownership
- Knowledge of IoT products market trends
- [AI] Candidates with experience leveraging Agentic AI tools for hardware engineering workflows — such as AI-assisted design review, automated test report generation, MCP-based design system integration, or AI-powered debugging assistants — will be strongly preferred.
