We are looking to appoint a Head Chef to join us in our beautiful Grade II Country House venue. Heading up the kitchen team, your primary job will be to contribute to the overall success of the department through effective management of the kitchen. You will plan and manage future developments in this area and lead on the ordering, receiving and preparing of all food in a hygienic and safe manner.
We'd like you to utilise local produce from suppliers close by wherever possible and bring your own flair and experience to menu design.
You will have a real passion for food and previous experience working in a hotel kitchen in a similar role. In addition, you will have:
- The drive to succeed and assist the GM with the overall strategy
- Strong leadership skills and exceptional communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills to ensure the smooth running of a kitchen
- Experience of managing a team under the current food safety legislation
- Food Safety Level 3 qualification (and a willingness to complete Level 4)
This role would be 40 hours per week, covering 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis, to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We will also consider a condensed working week over 4 days. Assuming there are no events scheduled, you will rarely work over the Christmas period and at quieter times throughout the year there will be occasions where you are not required to work the weekend.
