As Head of Accounting & Tax, you own the entire accounting function of the Roadsurfer Group and lead your team through a period of real change. You report directly to the CFO and you are part of a finance organization that brings together Accounting & Tax, Controlling, FP&A, Corporate Finance, and Finance Operations.

What makes this role special: you are not stepping into a predefined and finished structure – you actively shape it. You translate the demands of a fast-growing company into clean, audit-proof processes, and you play a key role in introducing SAP as our central ERP system.

The Role - Your Passion

• You lead the accounting function of the roadsurfer Group and are responsible for reliable, timely, and audit-proof monthly financial reporting.

• Together with your (group) accountants you are responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements and group financial statements under German GAAP (HGB).

• You proactively manage our external service providers handling accounting, VAT, income tax, and local audit for our foreign legal entities across Europe and North America. You ensure high quality, compliance, and adherence to our deadlines.

• You analyze new business transactions and ensure their correct accounting treatment.

• Together with our external tax advisor you ensure tax compliance across the German Roadsurfer entities.

• You lead, develop and structure your accounting team, establishing a culture of clear ownership and reliable closing timelines.

• You help build an accounting function that is scalable, data-driven, and ready for an AI-native finance setup – combining strong accounting expertise with smart automation, digitalization, clear process ownership, and high-quality financial data.

• You play a central role in the company-wide SAP implementation – from designing the accounting processes through testing to go-live and post-launch stabilization.

• You are the key contact for auditors, tax advisors, and authorities, and you steer the annual audit process.

What you need to ride the wave with us

• Min. of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including responsibility for (group) financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and proven leadership of an accounting team.

• A strong accounting qualification, such as a degree in finance/accounting or a comparable certification.

• Good understanding in German tax law.

• Experience with SAP and finance transformation projects; ideally, you have supported a SAP implementation or migration from an accounting perspective.

• A structured, hands-on leadership style with the ability to build scalable processes in a dynamic environment.

• Curiosity for automation, AI-supported finance workflows, and data-driven process improvements.

• An eye for detail, a positive mindset combined with a solution focus - you're someone who leads by example.

• Fluent in English and German.
