About this role

Lead the performance, growth and strategic direction of NewDay’s enterprise embedded finance partnerships, including high-profile propositions such as AO Finance and Argos Pay. You’ll own the partnership growth strategy and commercial performance across the portfolio, balancing customer outcomes, partner value and NewDay’s revenue and profitability ambitions.

This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape how embedded finance evolves across some of the UK’s best-known brands. You’ll lead strategic relationships, influence product and customer strategy, own portfolio P&L and investment decisions, and bring together teams across Product, Marketing, Credit Risk, Conduct Risk, Legal, Technology and Finance to unlock sustainable growth. You’ll combine commercial ambition with strong customer, risk and regulatory judgement to create long-term value for NewDay, our partners and their customers.

How you’ll contribute

  • You’ll define and deliver the embedded finance partnership growth strategy, identifying new opportunities, expanding the portfolio and increasing customer engagement.

  • You’ll lead commercial and customer growth, improving acquisition, engagement, retention and unit economics while maintaining strong customer, governance and compliance outcomes.

  • You’ll shape customer journeys and operational performance, working across functions to deliver improvements that enhance conversion, efficiency and customer outcomes.

  • You’ll build and lead senior relationships with strategic partners, driving alignment on growth plans, leading commercial negotiations and ensuring effective partnership governance.

  • You’ll own portfolio P&L performance, forecasting and investment decisions, using insight and analysis to manage risk, prioritise opportunities and maximise long-term value.

We’re looking for these essential skills

  • Deep expertise in embedded finance, consumer credit and UK financial services, with the ability to understand market dynamics, customer needs, regulatory developments and competitive opportunities.

  • Strong commercial and financial leadership, including the ability to understand P&L drivers, assess investment opportunities, optimise unit economics and make informed decisions that improve portfolio profitability.

  • The ability to develop and execute growth strategies in complex environments, translating market and customer insight into commercially successful initiatives.

  • Exceptional strategic partnership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior leaders across partner organisations and internal functions.

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and executive communication skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities, secure beneficial outcomes and maintain long-term strategic relationships.

It’s a plus if you also have these skills

  • Experience leading large-scale embedded finance or consumer credit partnerships with major enterprise or retail brands.

  • The ability to identify emerging market trends and translate them into new partnership, product or customer growth opportunities.

  • Experience influencing product roadmaps and customer propositions, using customer and commercial insight to drive prioritisation.

  • Strong capability in commercial modelling, forecasting and investment evaluation, with a focus on maximising return and long-term value.

  • Experience leading through complex risk, conduct, regulatory and governance environments while maintaining pace, innovation and commercial momentum.
