Head of Power Unit Controls Development

What you'll do
- Lead and develop the Power Unit Controls organization, including SECU Software Development, HiL & Real-Time Systems, and Systems/Data Processing
- Build, coach and inspire a highly qualified team of engineers in a high-performance motorsport environment
- Define and execute the Power Unit Controls technology roadmap aligned with overall Power Unit project objectives
- Ensure efficient delivery of software and validation activities across all development phases
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Power Unit Design, Testing, Performance, Operations, Trackside Engineering groups and Chassis Controls group
- Establish robust development, validation and release processes to guarantee quality, reliability and traceability
- Lead strategic decisions regarding software architecture, modelling environments, simulation technologies and validation tools
- Ensure effective utilization and continuous improvement of virtual development platforms, HiL systems and digital-twin environments
- Define and execute the strategy for engineering data acquisition and measurement systems across all Power Unit development environments
- Oversee data acquisition solutions for the Power Unit components, engine dynos, subsystem test benches and Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms
- Support performance optimization and reliability investigations through data-driven engineering approaches
- Contribute to technical risk assessment and mitigation strategies
What they're looking for
- Successfully completed studies in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering or a comparable discipline
- Several years of leadership experience in high-performance motorsports engineering organizations
- Proven track record in control systems, embedded software development, simulation and calibration environments
- Experience with combustion engine software and a good understanding of high-performance engines
- Strong understanding of modern hybrid powertrains, electrified propulsion systems and control architectures
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink-based development environments, ideally Motion Applied
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop and virtual validation methodologies
- Excellent understanding of embedded control systems, communication protocols and vehicle integration processes
- Experience managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and management levels
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into operational execution
- High level of ownership, resilience and decision-making capability
