Why the role exists

We have the teams, the technology, and the early traction. Now we need someone to own where this goes - what we build, what we don't, and how we win from here.

This is a Senior Leadership Team role. You'll report directly to the CPO and, as part of the SLT, you'll share responsibility for running the company - not just the product function. You'll lead a team of four PMs, a design team, and a Delivery Manager. Leadership backs your priorities and respects your no - because focus is how we win.

What you will do

You're a product leader who works at both the strategic and the detail level. You set the direction, then get into it with your teams - flying drones to understand the UX firsthand, sparring with engineers on architecture decisions, and keeping a high bar across everything your teams ship.

• Define and communicate a clear product vision rooted in deep domain understanding

• Build and own product strategy - including what we choose not to pursue

• Set the roadmap and prioritisation framework across all product teams

• Lead product discovery and make sure we validate problems before committing to solutions

• Drive go-to-market thinking as part of the product process, not an afterthought

• Work with team leads to align engineering capacity with product priorities

• Hire, develop, and hold a high bar for PMs, designers, and delivery managers

• Put in place lightweight processes that help teams move faster, not slower

You will thrive here if

• You have a genuine interest in the drone or defense domain - without this, building a meaningful product vision for our space is very hard

• You've taken a full product from zero to one: owned it end-to-end, driven its go-to-market, and shipped it

• Go-to-market thinking comes naturally to you - you think about distribution, customer validation, and adoption before jumping to features

• You're hands-on - not afraid to get into the details with your team, pick up a drone to understand the UX, or spar with engineering on architecture

• You know how to build teams that own outcomes: clear goals, defined scope, management style adapted to each person

• You've worked in a startup or fast-moving scale-up with a broad, cross-functional scope

• You have a track record of hiring well, giving hard feedback, and growing people

• Willingness to travel and participate in Defense exercises and missions around the world

Bonus if you have:

• Background in mission-critical software - defense, aerospace, robotics

• Experience with IoT or connected hardware

• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive industries

What your first year will look like

At 6 months: The scope has narrowed. Fewer active bets, sharper focus, and a team structure that actually matches our value streams and platforms.

At 12 months: PM, Design, and Delivery are consistently hitting their OKRs. Discovery and delivery work in rhythm, people have more autonomy, and it shows in the results. Decisions are backed by real data.
