Your Role

Lead Health & Safety across an assigned regional business portfolio by implementing the Global Health & Safety strategy, providing strategic leadership, governance and practical support that enables safe operational delivery. Build trusted relationships with regional leaders and ensure global standards are embedded while responding effectively to local business, regulatory and cultural requirements.

What you'll do

Regional Health & Safety Leadership

• Develop and deliver the Regional Health & Safety Plan aligned with the Global Health & Safety strategy and annual priorities.
• Lead the regional implementation of the Safely Powering Progress strategy.
• Provide strategic advice to regional leadership on performance, priorities and emerging risks.
• Promote a proactive safety culture that encourages leadership engagement, learning and continuous improvement.
• Integrate Health & Safety into planning, operational delivery and business decision making.
   

Business Partnership

• Provide strategic and operational Health & Safety support across the regional business.
• Support implementation of global standards, frameworks and minimum requirements.
• Work closely with operational leaders to develop practical solutions that enable safe business outcomes.
• Support regional delivery of global programmes, projects and change initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build trusted relationships with business leaders, project teams, contractors and the Global Health & Safety team.
• Influence decision making through credibility, collaboration and technical expertise.
• Coach leaders to strengthen Health & Safety capability and accountability.
   

Governance & Assurance

• Monitor regional performance using leading and lagging indicators.
• Lead or oversee investigations into significant incidents and ensure lessons learned are shared regionally and globally.
• Facilitate audits, assurance activities and management reviews.
• Support contractor governance and performance management where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation while maintaining alignment with global standards.
   

Global Collaboration

• Contribute to the development of global standards, programmes and strategic initiatives.
• Share regional insights, innovation and best practice to strengthen global capability.
• Support cross-functional projects and working groups to improve Health & Safety performance.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive leadership experience in Health & Safety within complex operational environments.
• Experience supporting multiple business units or regions within multinational and matrix organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing capability.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety management systems, governance, assurance and risk management.
• Strong analytical capability with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
