Health & Safety Advisor

Ventia is seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to support a portfolio of telecommunications projects across Brisbane and Australia wide. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly mobilised program where you'll have the ability to influence safety, quality and environmental outcomes from the ground up while gaining exposure to a diverse range of network projects, clients and stakeholders.

About the role

As a Safety (SHEQ) Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects across in Queensland and nationally.

Additionally, you'll:

• Partner with operational teams to promote a strong safety culture
• Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities
• Support incident investigations and drive continuous improvement
• Provide guidance on SHEQ systems, processes and compliance
• Contribute to quality outcomes across multiple network programs
• Travel to project sites across the state and occasionally interstate

What are we looking for? Do you have:

• A willingness to learn and continuously develop
• The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and follow through with completion
• A practical approach to problem solving and risk management
• Ability to work autonomously, manage completing priorities and build effective relationships
• A background within telecommunications, construction, utilities or infrastructure environments
• Qualified in Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality or similar
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance requirements and management systems
