Don't Let Your Career Go Down the Drain: Warehouse Health & Safety Assistant (Nights) at VictorianPlumbing.co.uk!

Do you have a keen eye for safety and a passion for keeping things shipshape?

VictorianPlumbing.co.uk, the UK's leading online bathroom retailer, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Health & Safety Assistant to join our brand new state-of-the-art site in Leyland, Lancashire.

In this rewarding role, you'll be a vital cog in the machine, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our team. You'll assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health and safety policies and procedures. Think of it as the foundation on which our award-winning customer service is built!

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Keeping us squeaky clean: Assisting with the creation and maintenance of health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and accident/incident reports.

  • Identifying potential hazards: Conducting regular safety inspections of the warehouse and equipment, keeping a watchful eye out for any potential leaks (metaphorical, of course!).

  • Training the team: Providing training and guidance to warehouse colleagues on health and safety matters, ensuring everyone knows the drill when it comes to safe working practices and emergency procedures.

  • Investigating mishaps: Investigating accidents and incidents, gathering information, and helping to develop preventative measures to keep them from happening again.

  • Staying compliant: Assisting in managing health and safety compliance, ensuring we adhere to all legal requirements and company standards.

  • Spreading the safety word: Supporting the implementation of health and safety initiatives and campaigns within the warehouse.

  • Keeping track: Maintaining accurate records of health and safety data and statistics.

  • Team player: Participating in health and safety meetings and committees as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A basic understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations.

  • A meticulous eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to keep everyone informed and on the same page.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is a plus (but not a must-have!).

  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) are highly regarded, but not essential.

If you're ready to take your career to the next level and ensure a safe and thriving environment for our team, we want to hear from you!

Benefits of joining VictorianPlumbing.co.uk:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Opportunity to work in a brand new, state-of-the-art warehouse

  • Be part of a growing and dynamic company

  • Make a real difference in the safety and well-being of our team
