Salary Range: $22/hr to $25/hr 
Location: Chantilly, VA  

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  

About Us: 

Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County.  Since the organization’s inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members. Today, Shelter House is a successful and reputable organization of over 200 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence.  In the last year, our compassionate team of individuals changed the lives of nearly 2,000 individuals, half of which were children. About the Role: 

The Home TBRA Admin Support Coordinator works under Program Manager to assist with day-to-day administration duties to ensure the program is running efficiently and smoothly. This role requires strong attention to details, being organized, and must know how to use Microsoft word, excel, outlook.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.  

Responsibilities:  

Records Management and Documentation: 

  • Assist in collecting required documentation from clients 
  • Create the client's physical file 
  • Digitize paper files and documents into SH SharePoint 
  • Assist in collecting necessary forms and documents from landlords 
  • Ensure files are complete, accurate, and accessible to authorized staff 
  • Assist with maintaining consistent file organization and documentation standards  

Financial Assistance Support 

  • Coordinate application fees and assist with submitting applications 
  • Prepare check request packets for new clients and submit regular rent requests to ensure rental assistance is submitted in timely manner 
  • Update and maintain financial tracking spreadsheets to ensure rent requests and payments are accurately recorded 
  • Deliver checks 

General Program Support 

  • Assist in scheduling intake, meetings, housing viewings, and inspections 
  • Assist in completing barriers and housing needs assessment 
  • Assist with conducting housing search; communicate with landlords, making cold calls and share results with Program Manager 
  • Monitor for upcoming recertifications and notify Program Manager when recertification is due 
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, financial, housing, and program information. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the TBRA program 

About You: 

  • Associate’s degree preferred; a high school diploma combined with relevant professional experience may be substituted
