Through our Housing Pathways Program (Courts), we support people navigating the justice system who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome barriers, rebuild stability and create pathways toward a brighter future.
About the role
As a Homelessness Worker - Housing Pathways Program (Courts), you will play a vital role in supporting people at a critical turning point in their lives. Working alongside clients exiting court processes, you will provide trauma-informed, strengths-based case management that helps secure stable housing, strengthen support networks and address the complex challenges contributing to homelessness. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by empowering individuals to achieve sustainable housing outcomes and build greater independence and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Housing Pathways Program (Courts) this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 12 months, based onsite located in Coburg North, Victoria.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award – Level 5.
How you will make an impact
- Support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness to access safe and sustainable housing options
- Deliver client-centred, trauma-informed case management tailored to individual goals and circumstances
- Advocate for clients and connect them with housing, health, justice and community support services
- Support individuals experiencing family violence and other complex challenges through coordinated and holistic responses
- Build strong partnerships across the sector to ensure accessible, culturally safe and effective support for clients
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related community services field, or equivalent sector experience
- Experience supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- Strong case management skills and the ability to work effectively with complex needs
- An understanding of the justice system or experience working within court, correctional or related settings (highly desirable)
- A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and person-centred practice
- A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence
