About this role

Knauf stands for opportunity. This exciting role offers you the ideal opportunity to begin and further develop an impressive career within a values-driven culture.

As a global building materials manufacturer with around 43,500 employees in over 90 countries, we offer diverse opportunities to ambitious talent. We value every contribution and are committed to creating a safe and inclusive work environment with the aim of developing sustainable solutions for a better future.

Knauf Industries Deutschland GmbH is proud to be a part of the Knauf Group. With a long-standing tradition, and a growing international presence, we are seeking dedicated individuals to help us achieve our long-term vision.

Can you say ‘yes’?

  • Is respectful and appreciative interaction within the team a given for you?

  • Do you always put the customer at the center of your actions?

  • Do you consider the future and upcoming generations in your actions?

  • Do you strive for personal and professional growth?

What you'll do

  • As a visible HSE leader, you will strengthen the HSE culture across the German organisation and support continuous improvement through your expertise in performance management, risk analysis and trend monitoring

  • A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with German HSE legislation and driving the structured implementation of Knauf Industries’ HSE strategy and objectives

  • The position includes maintaining and further developing HSE documentation within the integrated management system, while also ensuring accurate and timely reporting for both country and global leadership teams

  • In addition, responsibility for designing and coordinating HSE training and communication measures sits within this role, alongside supporting the implementation of company standards in areas such as working at height, LOTOTO, vehicles, lifting operations and machine safety

  • Regular plant visits across Germany, the coordination of incident reviews and risk assessments, and the representation of the company towards authorities, insurers, auditors and external partners round off this broad area of responsibility

Who you are

  • Several years of HSE experience in an industrial environment form the basis for success in this role, ideally including exposure to audits, inspections, equipment safety and incident investigation using structured root-cause methods

  • Experience gained in organisations operating under ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems is essential

  • A proven ability to lead teams or coordinate people, while fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment, is equally important

  • Strong communication skills, an analytical mindset and a solution-driven approach will help you succeed in an international setting

  • All required German HSE certifications, strong knowledge of national legislation and its practical application, and German and English language skills at a minimum of C1 level complete your profile; international HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, NVQ, IOSH or equivalent would be a strong advantage
