About this role
TITLE- Service Technician
Location – Chennai

What you will do
- Diagnose and rectify defects in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and control panels onboard ships.
- Execute retrofit and commissioning activities for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
- Perform annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for AFDS and fire extinguishing systems.
- Troubleshoot software issues within control panels, including program upload/download.
How you will do it
- Interpret manuals, P&ID diagrams, and electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
- Apply control philosophy knowledge to implement retrofit solutions.
- Analyze onboard logbook data to identify and resolve system defects.
- Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and operational excellence.
What we look for
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering
- Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on service experience
Required
- Expertise in servicing Addressable Fire Detection Systems and Fire Extinguishing Systems (CO₂, FM200, Water Mist, Foam).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Willingness to travel across Indian ports.
Preferred
- Knowledge of conventional/addressable fire detection systems.
- Experience with naval and marine ship systems.
