  • Assist with daily routines, including diapering, toileting, dressing, mealtimes, and transitions

  • Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, toys, furniture, and supplies, including light cleaning and laundry
  • Support communication with children, families, and staff in a respectful and positive manner
  • Assist with dual language instruction, as applicable
  • Help with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned
  • Provide classroom coverage to maintain child‑to‑teacher ratios during staff breaks or absences (as qualifications allow)
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

About Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC):

Position Summary:
Assists teaching staff with various duties in the infant and/or toddler classrooms in accordance with grant standards, childcare licensing regulations, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), OCDC’s policies and procedures and other applicable standards. Helps to maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment. May provide coverage for child/teacher ratios when teaching staff must leave the classroom for breaks, meetings, and/or planning time.

Essential Functions:
• Support teaching staff in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
• Supervise infants and toddlers in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques

Education and Experience Requirements:
No prior education or experience is required for this position.

Infant Toddler Instructional Assistant E-$17.00- $19.36 hourly ($19.17- $21.30 hourly in Metro locations)
• Within 4 months from date of hire, must meet Oregon Early Learning Division’s requirements for an infant/toddler Teacher Aide II.

Infant Toddler Instructional Assistant CE -$18.47- $20.52 hourly ($22.27 hourly in Metro locations)
• Meets Oregon Early Learning Division’s requirements for an infant/toddler Teacher.

Infant Toddler Instructional Assistant C-$19.58- $21.76 hourly ($22.67- $23.93 hourly in Metro locations)
• High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria

AND
• Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate

Or
• 1 year Oregon community college certificate (college certificate is equivalent to ORO step 8 in field) WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on development of infants and toddlers.

Metro locations include Washington County and Multnomah County sites.
Placement within the range is determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
