Infrastructure & Renewable Resources - Portfolio Management & Insights Co-op/Internship (Winter or Summer 2027)

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking a Portfolio Management and Insights Co-op Student/Intern for the Winter 2027 (January to April) or Summer 2027 (May to August) term to support the Infrastructure and Renewable Resources department. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The I&RR team invests globally in private infrastructure businesses that provide stable long-term results. BCI’s I&RR portfolio has more than $36 billion in AUM and ranks as the tenth largest institutional infrastructure investor globally. The portfolio spans a range of sectors including utilities, transportation, and digital infrastructure as well as tangible assets in timberland and agriculture. I&RR seeks meaningful investments in private companies enabling an active governance approach. The team invests in a variety of capacities including as a sole sponsor, co-investor, and very selectively through externally managed funds. In these capacities, the team seeks to take an active oversight role built on a foundation of trusted relationships with all stakeholders and a commitment to long-term value creation.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Preparing analyses to support the monitoring of the portfolio

• Preparing presentation materials for I&RR portfolio reviews and client meetings; delivering presentations in group settings

• Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of the I&RR portfolio's performance

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including other I&RR teams and departments within the organization to execute on or potentially lead operational projects and initiatives

• Supporting ad hoc research and briefing requests

• Competitive pay: $2,745.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary

• Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location

• Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island

• All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
